- New York Yankees vs. Cleveland Indians
The Indians host the Yankees in the second of a three-game series at Progressive Field. Excluding the opening contest of this series, the Yankees have won eight of their last ten meetings with the Indians and nine of the last 15 head-to-head duels in Cleveland.
The Yankees entered this matchup off a 2-1 series loss at Toronto, avoiding a sweep with a 6-2 victory Thursday night, but they won 12 of their last 17 games overall and eight of their previous 11 outings on the road. The Indians are coming off a 2-1 series win to Minnesota, losing 11 of their last 17 contests overall and seven of their previous ten showings at Progressive Field.
CC Sabathia will get the ball for the Yankees, while the Indians will counter with Adam Plutko. Sabathia is 3-2 in nine starts this season with a 3.61 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP, and the Yankees are 6-3 in that stretch, while the left-hander is 4-3 in his 13 starts against the Indians. Plutko is 1-1 in two starts this term with a 6.35 ERA and a 1.32 WHIP.
Both teams possess a top 10 pitching staff, but the Yankees’ bats are far more dangerous, averaging 5.34 runs per game (6th in the league). On the other side, the Indians are tallying 4.06 runs per game (25th in the league). With Plutko on the mound, the Indians will have a difficult job, so take the Yankees at money line odds.
- New York Yankees -120 over Cleveland Indians

- Minnesota United vs. Colorado Rapids
The Western Conference showdown at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colorado, will see the Minnesota United taking on the Colorado Rapids for the first time this season. While the Rapids are sitting bottom of the conference with 12 points and a 24:34 goal difference out of 15 games, Minnesota is laying at the 6th spot of the table with 21 points and a 23:24 goal difference out of 15 games, too.
However, Minnesota dropped two straight games and suffered three road losses in a row, while Colorado is undefeated in four consecutive contests, recording three wins and a draw in that span. Considering the current form, Colorado is listed as a fave for a reason, but we suggest you focus on the totals.
The Rapids have a 17:20 goal difference in eight outings at home, and their last six home games saw both teams scoring along with four or more goals in the total. Minnesota has a 14:17 goal difference in eight showings on the road, and seven of those eight tilts had three or more goals in the total.
The previous two head-to-head duels in Colorado saw both teams scoring twice, so take both teams to find the net along with three or more goals in the total.
