- New York Yankees vs. Toronto Blue Jays
The Yankees have the best record in the league at the moment. However, the Dodgers and Astros are right behind them, so the Yanks need to stay on the winning path. Therefore, they will send James Paxton to the mound tonight.
Paxton is riding a tremendous eight-game winning streak. Over the last 30 days, the left-hander is 5-0 with a 2.37 ERA. Paxton is 13-6 this season, tallying a 3.96 ERA and a 1.31 WHIP. He’s 3-3 in eight starts against the Blue Jays in his career.
On the other side, rookie Jacob Waguespack will toe the slab for the hosts. He’s 4-4 in ten starts and three relief apps this season with a 4.55 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP. However, the Blue Jays lost four straight games with Jacob on the mound. He allowed 14 hits and 11 earned runs over his last 11.1 innings of work.
Entering Friday’s clash, Toronto was 1-8 in the last nine games and 3-6 in the last nine at home. On the other side, the Yankees were 8-3 in their previous 11 contests on the road. Also, the Yanks were 8-3 in their last 11 meetings with the Blue Jays. Nine of the Yankees’ last 12 wins against Toronto came by two or more runs, so take the visitors to cover.
- New York Yankees -160 over Toronto Blue Jays by two or more runs

- Pittsburgh Panthers vs. Penn State Nittany Lions
After two convincing home victories over Idaho 79-7 and Buffalo 45-13, the Nittany Lions are looking to cheer up their fans once again. They are listed as strong favorites against Pittsburgh for a reason. Penn State plays well on both side of the ball, while the Panthers haven’t impressed with their displays.
Pittsburgh opened with a 30-14 loss to Virginia as 2.5-point dogs. Last week, the Panthers outlasted Ohio 20-10 as 4-point home favorites. Their defense looks good, but the Panthers will have a mountain to climb against Penn State.
The Nittany Lions are tallying 515.0 total yards per contest. Sean Clifford has tossed for 559 yards and six TD. On the other side, the Nittany Lions’ defense is allowing just 287.0 yards in a return.
Penn State is 18-2 SU and 15-4-1 ATS in its last 20 outings at home. Also, the hosts are 13-3-1 ATS following a straight-up win of at least 20 points. The Nittany Lions are 2-0-1 ATS in their three encounters with Pittsburgh over the last three years. Hereof, I’m backing the hosts to cover.
- Penn State Nittany Lions -17.5 at -110

- San Jose vs. New York City
New York City is coming off a 1-1 draw with Toronto FC at home, putting an end to their five-game winning streak. The Pigeons won eight of their last ten outings at home along with a draw and a loss. They are sitting top of the Eastern Conference three points ahead of Philadelphia.
San Jose is coming off a 1-0 loss at Real Salt Lake, recording their fourth loss over the last six contests. The Earthquakes lost four straight contests on the road, conceding nine goals in the process. They are sitting at the 5th spot of the Western Conference table, just two points ahead of the 8th-placed LA Galaxy.
Both teams need points here, but the hosts should grab a victory. Considering the Earthquakes’ displays on the road, I have to go with New York City. Likewise, the Pigeons won three of their four encounters with San Jose including both meetings in New York.
