  • Tampa Bay Rays vs. Houston Astros

Rarely who could expect to see the Rays forcing Game 5 at Minute Maid Park in Houston. Still, the Rays played at the highest level in the previous two contests at home, beating the Astros 10-3 and 4-1. However, I think this is the end of the road for Tampa Bay.

Gerrit Cole will toe the slab for the Astros, and he went 20-5 in the regular season with a 2.50 ERA and a 0.89 WHIP. Cole beat the Rays in Game 2, allowing four hits while striking out 15. Gerrit’s playing in a tremendous form, and I don’t think the Rays’ will find a way to score a lot against him.

On the other side, Tyler Glasnow will take the mound for the Rays. He pitched 4.1 innings in a 6-2 loss in Game 1, allowing four hits and two earned runs while striking out five. Glasnow started in just 12 games in the regular season due to a forearm injury, recording six wins and a loss with a 1.78 ERA and a 0.89 WHIP.

The Astros are 5-1 in their last six home meetings with the Rays, and they covered the spread in all those five victories. Also, 13 of the Astros’ previous 15 wins at home came by two or more runs.

  • Houston Astros -120 over Tampa Bay Rays by two or more runs

  • San Jose Sharks vs. Chicago Blackhawks

The San Jose Sharks opened the season with four straight losses. They allowed 17 goals in that span, scoring just five in a return. It’s a pretty disappointing start for the last season’s Western Conference finalists.

On the other side, the Chicago Blackhawks played only one game this term. They lost to Philadelphia 4-3 in a clash that took place in Prague, Czech Republic. The Blackhawks had six days to rest and prepare for this game, but it isn’t necessarily an advantage.

The Sharks cannot afford another loss, and I think they will be highly motivated to beat the Blackhawks on the road. San Jose is 7-3 in its last ten meetings with Chicago including victories in their previous two visits to United Center.

The Sharks lost five straight games on the road, but they are 3-2 in the previous five road encounters with the Eastern Conference. On the other side, the Blackhawks are 7-11 in their last 18 home meetings with the Western Conference.

  • San Jose Sharks +100 over Chicago Blackhawks

  • New York Giants vs. New England Patriots

The Giants might get Saquon Barkley back, but they will still have a mountain to climb against the reigning champs. The Patriots are torturing their rivals this season, allowing 6.8 points per game on 238.4 total yards (both 1st in the league).

Although the Giants are 6-0 ATS in their last six outings as double-digit underdogs, the Patriots are 15-0 SU and 12-3 ATS in their previous 15 outings at home as double-digit favorites. Also, the Pats are undefeated in 18 straight home games, covering the spread 14 times in that span.

Considering all the facts, I have to take the Pats to cover. The Giants are allowing 25.0 points per game (24th) on 409.4 total yards (30th). It seems like Tom Brady and Pats’ offense will have an easy task, while their defense should dominate the Giants’ offense that is scoring 19.4 points per contest (24th).

  • New England Patriots -17.0 at -110

  • Syracuse Orange vs. NC State Wolfpack

The ACC showdown from Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh, North Carolina, will see the Orange Syracuse taking on the North Carolina State Wolfpack. Both teams are 3-2 on the season and 0-1 in the conference play. While the Orange covered the spread on two occasions, the Wolfpack is 1-3-1 ATS.

Syracuse is scoring 28.6 points per game (73rd in the country), allowing 28.0 in a return (77th). On the other side, NC State is tallying 29.8 points per contest (67th) while surrendering 20.8 points in a return. The Wolfpack’s defense and its ground game should be key factors in this clash.

NC State is 6-2 SU and 4-4 ATS in eight meetings with Syracuse. Also, NC State is 10-1 SU and 5-5-1 ATS in its previous 11 games at home, while Syracuse is 4-11 SU and 10-5 ATS in its last 15 outings on the road. Hereof, I’m backing the hosts to win straight up, expecting to see a tight battle.

  • NC State Wolfpack -190 over Syracuse Orange
