FREE NHL BETTING PICK OF THE DAY

  • Columbus Blue Jackets vs. St. Louis Blues

The Blue Jackets (5-5-2) have dropped two games in a row, losing to Philadelphia 7-4 on the road and Edmonton 4-1 at home. They are scoring just 2.58 goals per game (26th in the NHL) while allowing 3.58 in a return (27th).

On the other side, the reigning champs have won two straight games over Detroit 5-4 and Minnesota 2-1. The Blues are 4-1 in their last five outings. They are 16th in the NHL in goals per game (3.00) and tied-13th in goals against (3.00).

The Blues have won five of their last seven encounters with the Blue Jackets. Likewise, the Blues are 15-5 in their last 20 home meetings with the Blue Jackets. Considering the current form and Columbus’ defensive issues, I’m backing the hosts to win.

  • St. Louis Blues -170 over Columbus Blue Jackets

FREE NBA BETTING PICK OF THE DAY

  • Milwaukee Bucks vs. Orlando Magic

After an easy win over the Cavaliers 129-112 at home, the Bucks lost at the Celtics 116-105 this past Wednesday. They blew a 19-point lead while shooting only 31.1% from beyond the arc and 62.5% from the charity stripe.

The Bucks are now 2-2 on the season, as well as the Orlando Magic who are coming off a 95-83 victory to the Knicks. It was Orlando’s second win on the home court following a 94-85 victory over the Cavaliers in the opener.

The Magic has struggled offensively, tallying only 98.1 points per 100 possessions (28th in the NBA). On the other hand, their defensive rating is the 3rd-best in the league (96.0), but I don’t think they can beat the Bucks without a fluid offense.

Also, Orlando is playing at the slowest pace in the NBA, and slowing down the Bucks will be a tall task. Milwaukee is posting almost ten possessions per 48 minutes more than Orlando. Hereof, give me the visitors to cover.

  • Milwaukee Bucks -4.5 at -110

FREE CFB BETTING PICK OF THE DAY

  • Navy Midshipmen vs. UConn Huskies

The Midshipmen (6-1; 5-2 ATS) are riding a four-game winning streak following a dramatic 41-38 victory over Tulane at home. They’ve scored 34 or more points each time during their streak, and Navy’s offense is currently 15th in the CFB in points per game (37.9).

They rely exclusively on their ground game that is racking up the most yards per game in the country (351.1). On the other side, Navy’s defense is allowing only 19.3 points per game (19th in the CFB).

Considering the numbers, the Midshipmen should have no problem to beat the Huskies on the road. UConn’s defense is surrendering 37.8 points per contest (127th). The Huskies’ run D is 103rd in the nation with 197.0 yards allowed per game.

Likewise, the Huskies are scoring 21.6 points per game and will have a mountain to climb against Navy’s defense. I don’t feel comfortable with a huge spread, but I also cannot go against the Midshipmen who are a much better team than the Huskies. Give me the visitors and points.

  • Navy Midshipmen -27.0 at -110
