  • New York Yankees vs. Minnesota Twins

The Yankees are one step away from the American League Championship Series. They easily outlasted the Twins in two games at home (10-4 and 8-2) and will try to finish the job at Target Field in Minneapolis.

The Yankees are 15-4 in their last 19 meetings with the Twins. Also, they won their last two visits to Minneapolis back in July. On the other side, the Twins are on a nine-game losing streak in the postseason. They lost 16 of their previous 17 playoff games.

Luis Severino will take the mound for the Yankees. He returned from an injury in September and went 1-1 in three starts, tallying a 1.50 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP.

Jake Odorizzi will toe the slab for the Twins, and the right-hander is 15-7 this season. Odorizzi has a 3.51 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP, and he’s 7-9 in 17 starts against the Yankees in a career.

However, the Twins are 1-1 in two Jake’s starts against the Yankees this season and 8-2 in Odorizzi’s last ten starts. The hosts will be highly motivated to finally snap their postseason woe, and I think they stand a chance with Odorizzi on the mound.

The Twins are scoring 5.80 runs per game (2nd in the MLB). If their bats put on a strong performance, I think the Twins will upset the Yankees.

  • Minnesota Twins +128 over New York Yankees

  • Buffalo Sabres vs. Columbus Blue Jackets

The Sabres are off to a good start, beating 3-1 Pittsburgh on the road and thrashing off New Jersey 7-2 at home. On the other side, the Blue Jackets lost both their games at the start of the season. They opened with a 4-1 home defeat to Toronto while losing 7-2 at Pittsburgh.

Both teams have met the Penguins over the last few days. Considering their displays in Pittsburgh, the Sabres should be favorites over the Blue Jackets. However, the Sabres lost seven of their last ten meetings with the Blue Jackets and four of the previous five encounters in Columbus.

The Blue Jackets are 5-2 in their last seven regular-season games at home. They will be keen to bounce back from a poor start of the season, so I’m backing them to win tonight. The Sabres are only 2-12 in their last 14 outings on the road and 3-14 in their last 17 road encounters with the Metropolitan.

  • Columbus Blue Jackets -115

  • Cleveland Browns vs. San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers enter this clash off a bye, so they had plenty of time to prepare. San Francisco is undefeated after Week 4, covering the spread on two occasions. On the other side, the Browns are coming off an excellent 40-25 victory as 7-point dogs at Baltimore. They improved to 2-2 SU and ATS on the season.

The 49ers are 4th in the league in total yards per game (421.0) and 3rd in points scored per game (32.0). Their ground game is the 2nd-best in the league, rushing for 175.0 yards per contest. Still, they combined for 72 points against the Buccaneers and Bengals whose defenses are arguably poor.

Now, the 49ers will face the Browns who found a way to deal with the best ground game in the league last week. Likewise, the Browns racked up 530 total yards while converting four of their five visits to the red zone.

The Browns’ defense looked good over the last few weeks, so I expect them to slow down the 49ers. Cleveland is surrendering 335.0 total yards to their opponents (11th in the NFL). Also, the Browns possess enough offensive firepower to damage the Niners’ D.

Hereof, I think the visitors will keep it close. Take the Browns and points or consider teasing them to seven points at -163 odds.

  • Cleveland Browns +5.0 at -110
