- New York Yankees vs. Houston Astros
While the Yankees cruised through the American League Division Series, the Astros barely outlasted Tampa Bay in five games. Still, the Astros are favorites to beat the Yanks in the ALCS and reach the World Series.
The Astros won the regular-season series with the Yankees 4-3. They won all three encounters in Houston, but it was back in April. The Astros are 10-3 in their last 13 home matchups with the Yanks.
Zack Greinke will toe the slab for the Astros in the opener. The right-hander went 18-5 in the regular season, recording a 2.93 ERA and a 0.98 WHIP. However, he was terrible in a 10-3 loss at Tampa Bay in Game 3, allowing five hits and six earned runs in 3.2 innings of work.
Masahiro Tanaka will get the ball for the Yankees, and the right-hander went 11-9 in the regular season, tallying a 4.45 ERA and a 1.24 WHIP. Tanaka pitched five innings in an 8-2 win over Minnesota this past Saturday, allowing three hits and a run while striking out seven.
While Greinke is 4-4 in 12 starts and three relief appearances against the Yankees in his career, Tanaka is 0-2 in seven starts against the Astros. I expect Greinke to bounce back from his poor display against the Rays, while Tanaka was far away from his best form this season. Hereof, I’m going with the Astros to win.
- Houston Astros -155 over New York Yankees

- New Jersey Devils vs. Boston Bruins
The New Jersey Devils suffered four straight losses at the start of the season, and I assume their skid will continue when they visit the Boston Bruins who won three of their first four contests. The Devils allowed 20 goals, scoring nine in a return, and their defense is obviously a big issue.
This will be the first home game for the Bruins since Game 7 of the 2019 Stanley Cup Final. The reigning vice-champions are surely motivated to give their fans something to cheer about, and I’m backing them to beat the hapless Devils.
The Bruins are 15-5 in their last 20 meetings with the Devils and 13-2 in the previous 15 encounters at TD Garden. Interestingly, the Bruins’ previous five home wins over Devils came by a goal, so I would go with the money line odds.
- Boston Bruins -190 over New Jersey Devils

- Michigan State Spartans vs. Wisconsin Badgers
Although the Spartans’ defense is doing a great job this season, allowing 18.2 points on 300.2 total yards per game, their offense will have a mountain to climb against the Badgers. The Spartans are scoring 27.8 points per game and will meet the best defense in the country.
The Badgers are surrendering only 5.8 points on 182.0 total yards per contest while scoring 43.4 points per game which are the 9th-most in the country. If they stay undefeated, the Badgers will have a chance to reach the playoffs, so I think they will beat the Spartans by more than ten points.
Wisconsin is 5-2 SU and 4-3 ATS in its last seven home meetings with Michigan State. Also, the Badgers are 6-0 SU and 5-1 ATS in their last six games and 4-0 SU and 3-1 ATS in their previous four outings at home.
- Wisconsin Badgers -10.0 at -110
