FREE MLB BETTING PICK OF THE DAY

  • Washington Nationals vs. Miami Marlins

The Nationals entered the opening contest in Miami just one game ahead of Milwaukee and two games ahead of the Chicago Cubs. The victory in the middle contest Saturday night is a must. Considering their starting pitcher, the Nationals should satisfy the odds.

Stephen Strasburg will get the ball, and he’s 17-6 this season with a 3.49 ERA and a 1.06 WHIP. The three-time All-Star is 21-7 in 35 starts against the Marlins in his career. Likewise, the Nationals defeated the Marlins in 14 straight meetings with Strasburg on the mound. In 13 of those 14 wins, the Nationals covered the spread.

Elieser Hernandez will take the hill for Miami. He’s 3-5 this term with a 5.03 ERA and a 1.24 WHIP. The Marlins lost five of his previous seven starts including a 7-6 defeat at Washington. Miami lost four straight home games before last night’s clash with the Nationals.

I expect Strasburg to dominate the Marlins’ bats. The stake is huge for the Nationals and I hope they will cope with pressure well. Take the visitors to cover.

  • Washington Nationals -135 over Miami Marlins by two or more runs

  • UCLA Bruins vs. Washington State Cougars

The Washington State Cougars host the UCLA Bruins, looking for their fourth win of the season. They covered the spread just once in the previous three outings, while the Bruins are 0-3 straight up and ATS on the season.

The Bruins are struggling on both sides of the ball. Their ground game is 124th in the country with 78.0 yards per game, while their defense is surrendering 31.7 points on 467.0 total yards per contest. On the other side, the Cougars are scoring 49.3 points on 567.0 total yards.

Washington State is 11-3 ATS in its last 14 outings at home and 12-4 ATS in its previous 16 games overall. The Bruins are 4-9 ATS in their previous 13 road contests and 2-6-1 ATS in the last nine games overall. Also, the Bruins are 3-11 ATS in their last 14 meetings with the Cougars.

The Bruins will have a tall task here. Their defense doesn’t look ready to battle with the Cougars’ fluid offense. Hereof, I’m backing the hosts to cover.

  • Washington State Cougars -18.5 at -110

FREE MLS BETTING PICK OF THE DAY

  • Montreal vs. LA Galaxy

Both Montreal and LA Galaxy desperately need a win. Montreal is three points behind the playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. LA Galaxy holds the playoff berth in the Western Conference just two points ahead of Portland.

Montreal lost seven straight MLS games on the road, conceding 21 goals in the process. Also, they lost three of the previous four contests along with a home win over Vancouver.

On the other side, LA Galaxy is coming off a tremendous 7-2 victory to Sporting Kansas City. They won five of the last seven games at home along with a draw and a loss. LA Galaxy won two of their last three home encounters with Montreal, keeping the clean sheet in that span.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is on fire, bagging a hat-trick against Kansas City. I expect another strong performance at home. Take LA Galaxy to win.

  • LA Galaxy to Win at -167
