  • Montreal Canadiens vs. Minnesota Wild

Three days ago, the Canadiens thrashed off the Wild 4-0 in Montreal. Interestingly, it was their first victory over the Wild after nine straight losses in head-to-head duels. Likewise, Minnesota is 6-0 in its last six home encounters with the Canadiens.

Despite a poor start on the season, I think the Wild will bounce back and beat the Canadiens at home for the seventh time in a row. Montreal defeated the reigning champs 5-2 in St. Louis yesterday, and fatigue could be a decisive factor in this one.

The Canadiens are only 1-4 on the back end of their last five back-to-back sets. On the other side, the Wild won only three of their previous 17 outings at home. Something’s better change, and Minnesota’s players had a meeting following a loss at Montreal that should shake the things a bit.

A dreadful start and just two points out of the first seven games are a good reason for Minnesota to get into this clash like it’s a playoff game. Hereof, I’m taking the hosts to win.

  • Minnesota Wild +108 over Montreal Canadiens

  • Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Cincinnati Bengals

The banged-up Bengals will miss almost the entire secondary. A.J. Green is still sidelined, so the hosts will be quite shorthanded on both sides of the ball. Cincinnati is allowing 26.5 points per game (26th in the NFL), and the Bengals’ run defense is the worst in football, surrendering 184.5 yards per game.

It seems like the Bengals will stay winless after the clash with Jacksonville. The Jaguars are keen to snap a two-game skid and stay in the playoff race. They are scoring only 19.5 points per contest (23rd), but the Jaguars should have enough firepower on the ground to outlast the Bengals.

Jacksonville lost four of its last five meetings with Cincinnati. However, the Jaguars are 12-6 SU and 10-6-2 ATS in their previous 18 meetings with the Bengals. I think the Jags will take advantage of all flaws in the Bengals’ defense. Still, I would take the alternative line, backing the visitors to win by at least a field goal.

  • Jacksonville Jaguars -2.5 at -182

  • LA Galaxy vs. Minnesota United

Zlatan Ibrahimovic claims he’s the best player of all time in the MLS. He’s bagged 30 goals in the regular season, but this could be his last chance to win the MLS Cup. First, his LA Galaxy needs to beat Minnesota United in the single-elimination first-round clash.

LA Galaxy’s last ten games overall saw both teams scoring and three or more goals in the total. Ove their last five outings, the Galaxy scored whopping 16 goals while allowing 13 in a return. On the other side, two of Minnesota’s previous five contests produced three or more goals in the total.

The previous duel between LA Galaxy and Minnesota was finished in a goalless draw. However, LA Galaxy defeated Minnesota 3-2 in their first meeting of the season. Likewise, six of their last seven encounters saw at least three goals on the scoreboard.

Hereof, I would avoid taking the side bet and stick with the totals instead. The visitors’ defense is pretty fragile, but with Ibrahimovic in the team, they should find the net.

  • Both Teams to Score YES & Over 2.5 Goals at -175
