FREE MLB BETTING PICK OF THE DAY

  • Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Washington Nationals

The Nationals pulled off an upset in Game 2, beating the Dodgers 4-2 on the back of Stephen Strasburg stellar pitching. The right-hander allowed just three hits and an earned run in six innings of work while striking out ten. The Nats bounced back off a 6-0 defeat in the opening game of the series.

Now, the Nationals will start Max Scherzer who pitched one inning in relief of Strasburg in Game 2 of the NLDS. Likewise, Scherzer pitched five innings in the wild-card victory over Milwaukee. The right-hander allowed four hits and three earned runs in five innings of work.

On the other side, the Dodgers lost Game 2 with Clayton Kershaw on the mound. They will start Hyun-Jin Ryu in Game 3, and the lefty is 14-5 this season with a 2.32 ERA and a 1.01 WHIP. Ryu is 2-1 in five starts against the Nationals in his career.

The Nationals showed against Kershaw that they can hit well against the southpaw pitcher. The Dodgers, on the other side, went 76-34 against the right-handed starter in 2019. Scherzer is 5-4 in his 12 starts and two relief apps versus the Dodgers, tallying a 2.76 ERA in that span.

The Nationals’ bullpen will be a key factor if Scherzer put on a strong performance in the first five or six innings. Hereof, I think we’ll see another low scoring affair, expecting to see a solid game by Hyun-Jin Ryu.

Seven of the last nine encounters between the Dodgers and Nationals went in the under. All those seven games saw seven or fewer runs in the total.

  • Under 8.0 runs at +100

FREE NHL BETTING PICK OF THE DAY

  • Winnipeg Jets vs. New York Islanders

The Jets started the season on the road, visiting the east coast. After a 6-4 loss at the New York Rangers, the Jets beat the New Jersey Devils 5-4 in overtime. Now, the Jets visit the New York Islanders who opened with a 2-1 home loss to the Washington Capitals.

The Islanders are 12-6 in their last 18 meetings with the Jets. They split a two-game series last season, as each team recorded a win on the road. This time, I’m backing the Islanders to grab a victory in front of the home fans.

The Islanders are 8-1 in their last nine home encounters with the Western Conference. They had a tough matchup in the opener and will be keen to bounce back against the Jets whose defense has been struggling in their first two contests.

  • New York Islanders -125 over Winnipeg Jets

FREE NFL BETTING PICK OF THE DAY

  • New England Patriots vs. Washington Redskins

The Patriots are perfect after the first four weeks, covering the spread on two occasions. On the other side, the Redskins are 0-4 SU and 1-3 ATS on the season and will start their third-string QB Colt McCoy against the reigning champions.

Case Keenum is injured, while rookie Dwayne Haskins threw three interceptions last week. McCoy and the Redskins’ offense will have a tall task against the Pats who are surrendering just 6.8 points on 243.0 total yards per game (1st in the NFL).

On the other side, the Redskins are allowing 29.5 points (31st) on 399.2 total yards (28th). Their ground game is the second-worst in the NFL with 49.8 yards per game, so I don’t think they stand a chance against the Patriots here.

New England is 5-1 SU and ATS in its last six outings on the road when listed as double-digit favorites. After they failed to cover in two straight contests, I think the Pats will rout the Redskins in this one.

  • New England Patriots -15.5 at -110

FREE MLS BETTING PICK OF THE DAY

  • Sporting Kansas City vs. FC Dallas

Dallas need a win over Sporting Kansas City in the ultimate round of the MLS regular season to clinch the playoff berth. The Hoops are winless in their last four games overall, recording a pair of losses and ties in the process, but they won three of their last four outings at home along with a draw.

Likewise, Dallas recorded nine wins, six draws, and a loss in 16 games at home this season. On the other side, Kansas City is on a four-game losing streak away from home and have nothing to play for in this clash. Sporting is seven points behind Dallas.

The Hoops wo two of their last three meetings with Sporting and three of the previous five H2H duels in Texas. They are in a must-win situation, and I’m backing them to satisfy the odds.

  • FC Dallas -188 over Sporting Kansas City
