  • Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Baltimore Orioles

The Dodgers have already clinched the NL West and continue to battle for the best record in the league. If they want to keep the pace with the Yankees and Astros, victory over Baltimore is a must. Entering Wednesday’s games, the Dodgers were just a game behind those two teams.

The Dodgers are strong favorites to beat the Orioles in the closing contest of a three-game set in Baltimore. They were 8-4 in the last 12 meetings with the Orioles before Wednesday’s clash and 4-1 in the previous five encounters in Baltimore.

The Orioles are the second-worst team in baseball. Their pitching staff is the worst in the MLB with a 5.77 ERA. They’ve allowed the most home runs thus far (279). On the other side, the Dodgers’ pitching staff is the best in baseball, tallying a 3.40 ERA and a 1.11 WHIP.

Rich Hill will get the ball for the Dodgers, returning to the field after a two-month absence. He’s 4-1 this season with a 2.55 ERA and a 1.11 WHIP. Hill is 2-0 in two starts and ten relief appearances against the Orioles in his career.

Dylan Bundy will toe the slab for the Orioles, and he’s 6-13 in 2019. Bundy tallied a 5.06 ERA and a 1.36 WHIP, while Baltimore lost four of his previous six starts.

Seven of the Dodgers’ last eight wins and ten of the Orioles’ previous 12 losses came by two or more runs. The Dodgers shouldn’t have any problems to beat the O’s today, so take them to cover.

  • Los Angeles Dodgers -140 over Baltimore Orioles by two or more runs

  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Carolina Panthers

The NFC South showdown from Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina, will see the Tampa Bay Buccaneers going against the Carolina Panthers. It’s a big game for both teams after they suffered losses in Week 1.

The Panthers had a tough job against the Los Angeles Rams this past Sunday. The vice-champions won 30-27, but the Panthers showed they could be back in the playoff picture this year. Christian McCaffrey had a big game with 128 rush yards and a couple of touchdowns, but Cam Newton disappointed.

Newton tossed for 239 yards and a pick while rushing for -2 yards. Still, he completed 65.8% of his passing attempts, but Carolina needs more from Superman. Also, the Panthers’ run defense will need to do a better job after allowing 166 rushing yards.

On the other side, the Buccaneers completely disappointed their fans last weekend. They lost to the 49ers 31-17, allowing 25 second-half points. Jameis Winston threw for 194 yards, a touchdown, and three interceptions, and the 49ers returned two of those three picks.

Carolina is 9-3 straight up and 8-4 ATS in its last 12 meetings with Tampa Bay. The Panthers are 9-5 ATS in the last 14 home games, while the Buccaneers are 2-15 SU and 5-9-3 ATS in their last 17 road contests.

The Panthers’ defense will be all over Jameis Winston. Also, I expect to see a much better performance by Cam Newton. McCaffrey will be unstoppable once again, so I’m backing the Panthers to cover.

  • Carolina Panthers -7.0 at -110
