  • Oakland Athletics vs. Seattle Mariners

The Oakland Athletics and Seattle Mariners will lock horns in the opening contest of a four-game series at T-Mobile Park in Seattle. While the Mariners have nothing to play for, the A’s are bravely battling for a wild card.

Entering their Wednesday’s clash with the Angels, the A’s were just half a game ahead of Tampa Bay and one game ahead of Cleveland. With just four games left to be played, the A’s are in a must-win situation. Sean Manaea will get the ball for the Athletics, while the Mariners will counter with Felix Hernandez.

Manaea is 3-0 in four starts this season, tallying a 1.14 ERA and a 0.80 WHIP. He returned to action on the first day of September after recovering from shoulder surgery. Manaea is 5-4 in ten starts against the Mariners in his career with a 3.90 ERA.

Hernandez is 1-7 in 14 starts this season, recording a 6.51 ERA and a 1.52 WHIP. The Mariners lost eight of his previous ten starts. Felix is 26-14 in 51 starts against Oakland in his career. However, the Mariners are 1-4 in his previous five starts against the Athletics.

Oakland is 8-3 in its last 11 meetings with Seattle. The A’s covered the spread in seven of those eight wins. The Mariners are terrible against the southpaw starting pitcher this season, recording 16 wins and 34 losses. Hereof, go with the Athletics to win by two or more runs.

  • Oakland Athletics -145 over Seattle Mariners by two or more runs

  •  Philadelphia Eagles vs. Green Bay Packers

While the Eagles are at a tight spot following two straight losses, the Packers are 3-0 straight up and ATS on the season. Considering the betting trends, the Packers will stay on the winning path.

Green Bay is 5-1 SU and ATS in its last six encounters with Philadelphia. Likewise, the Packers are 6-2-1 SU and 6-3 ATS in their last nine games at home and 10-0-1 SU and 9-2 ATS in their previous outings at home in September. Furthermore, the Eagles are 0-4 SU and ATS in their last four showings on the road.

Philadelphia is struggling with injuries and will miss DeSean Jackson and Corey Clement. The Eagles are allowing 26.0 points per game (tied-26th in the league). Their defense has been terrible thus far, surrendering 293.7 passing yards per contest (29th) and seven receiving touchdowns over the first three weeks.

On the other side, the Packers are allowing just 11.7 points per contest (2nd in the league). Also, they are surrendering 197.3 passing yards per game (5th), looking ready to shut down Carson Wentz.

Considering all these facts, I cannot go against the Packers. They are playing at home, looking keen to put an end to their two-year playoff drought. I’m taking the hosts and points.

  • Navy Midshipmen vs. Memphis Tigers

Navy meets Memphis in the clash of two undefeated teams. However, neither team has played tough rivals thus far, so their numbers are pretty impressing. Navy is 8.5 points per game (2nd in the country) on 227.0 total yards (4th), while Memphis is surrendering 13.3 points per contest (tied-14th) on 226.3 total yards (3rd).

On the other side, Navy is tallying 43.5 points per game (16th). The Midshipmen rely on their ground game, racking up the most rushing yards per game in the country (371.5). The Tigers are scoring 37.3 points per contest (32nd) on 489.7 total yards (26th).

Navy is 3-1 SU and 4-0 ATS in its last four meetings with Memphis. The under has hit in the previous two H2H duels, and this one should be another low-scoring affair. The Midshipmen look to run the football all the time, while their defense should slow down the Tigers’ offense.

The Tigers, on the other side, had two RBs with 100-plus rushing yards in a 42-6 win over South Alabama. Their offense is more balanced than Navy’s, but the Tigers will need to establish their ground game against Navy’s tough run defense.

The under is 5-2 in Navy’s last seven outings, and it is 3-1 in its last four contests on the road. With all the rushing expected in this clash, I suggest you take the under on the totals.
