  • Kansas City Royals vs. Oakland Athletics

The Royals take on the Athletics in the closing contest of a three-game series at Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum. The visitors have nothing to play for here, but they still upset the A’s 6-5 in the opener. The Royals scored a couple of runs in the ninth inning to clinch the victory.

On the other side, the Athletics desperately need a win on Wednesday. Entering last night’s clash, the A’s held the wild-card spot just a game ahead of Cleveland. Considering tonight’s starting pitchers, the A’s should beat the Royals.

Danny Duffy will get the ball for the Royals, and the lefty is 6-6 this season with a 4.55 ERA and a 1.36 WHIP. Although the Royals won six of Duffy’s last eight starts, the Athletics are 30-12 against the southpaw starting pitcher. Duffy is 4-0 against the A’s in his career, and I think it’s time for the first loss.

The A’s are the sixth-most efficient team in the league with 5.34 runs per game. They will start Homer Bailey who joined the team from Kansas City this summer. The A’s won six of his last nine starts, while Bailey is 13-8 in 2019 with a 4.76 ERA and a 1.34 WHIP.

Bailey pitched six innings in a 19-4 victory at Kansas City on August 26. He allowed eight hits and three earned runs while striking out three. Excluding the middle contest of this series, Oakland is 7-3 in its last ten meetings with Kansas City.

Ten of the A’s last 13 wins over the Royals came by two or more runs, so take the hosts to cover a spread. I would lean on their excellent form against left-handers in 2019.

  • Oakland Athletics -120 over Kansas City Royals by two or more runs

  • FC Dallas vs. Seattle

All three MLS games Wednesday night are tricky to bet on, but the clash between FC Dallas and Seattle look like a high-scoring affair. Dallas is tied with Portland at the 7th spot of the Western Conference standings. Seattle is sitting at the 2nd spot six games ahead of Dallas.

Four of Seattle’s last five games overall saw both teams scoring and over 2.5 goals in the total. It’s the same story with Seattle’s previous six outings at home and four of Dallas’ previous six contests overall. Likewise, the last three H2H meetings had an identical 2-1 outcome.

Both Dallas and Seattle have been scoring a lot and conceding a lot lately. Dallas is in a tough situation, fighting for the playoff spot. Hereof, I expect the visitors to score, and I would be surprised if they record a clean sheet. Seattle scored in 17 straight outings at home, while the Sounders bagged 13 goals in their last four home games.
