- Oakland Athletics vs. Los Angeles Angels
The Athletics take on the Angels to close down a two-game series at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Entering the last night’s opener, the A’s were just game and a half ahead of the Cleveland Indians in the race for the wild card. Hereof, the victory over the Angels is a must for the A’s.
Oakland has been playing in a great form lately. The A’s won ten of their previous 12 games overall excluding Tuesday’s clash with the Angels. Likewise, the A’s were on a six-game winning streak away from home.
On the other side, the Angels lost ten of their previous 13 contests and six of their last seven home games. They lost six straight encounters with the A’s and four of the previous five meetings in Anaheim.
The Angels will start Andrew Heaney, and the lefty is 4-6 this season with a 5.10 ERA. The Angels lost three of his last four starts, while Heaney is 2-2 in five starts against Oakland. The A’s were terrific against the left-handers this season, recording 33 wins and just 12 losses.
Brett Anderson will get the ball for the visitors. The lefty is 12-9 this season with a 4.00 ERA, and the A’s won four straight games with him on the mound. Anderson is 4-3 against the Angels in his career, while Oakland is 4-1 in his last five starts against the Angels.
The A’s have a clear advantage on the mound. The Angels are 22-30 versus the southpaw starting pitcher in 2019. There’s so much on the table for the A’s here, and I think they won’t allow an upset even though they are playing on the road. Take the Athletics to win straight up.

- Sporting Kansas City vs. Minnesota United
Minnesota United will clinch the playoff berth with the victory over Sporting Kansas City. Likewise, the hosts would take the No. 2 seed in the West. On the other side, the visitors are seven points behind the playoff spot. With three games more to go, they are in dire straits.
Sporting is riding a three-game losing streak, conceding 12 goals in that span. They lost four of their last five games on the road. Minnesota won two of its last four MLS contests along with one draw and a loss. United recorded six wins and two losses in the previous eight MLS games at home.
Sporting Kansas City will certainly try their best to stay alive in the playoff battle. However, Minnesota is playing very well at home, and I think they will take advantage of Kansas City’s defensive flaws.
Likewise, Minnesota won two of its last four home meetings with Sporting along with a couple of ties. Back in June, Minnesota thrashed off Sporting 4-1 at home in the US Open Cup. Therefore, I’m backing the hosts to win.
