Week 5 of the 2019 College Football season goes on Friday night with four games on the schedule. It’s a nice opportunity for the bettors to take a CFB teaser or a straight bet on one of those four contests. Hereof, we bring you all need-to-know betting tips and trends to help you make the best bets.

The action starts at Lane Stadium in Blacksburg where the Virginia Tech Hokies host the Duke Blue Devils as 3-point favorites. The Hokies won their last three encounters with the Blue Devils and are 12-2 SU and 8-6 ATS in the previous 14 meetings. The under is 5-1 in the last six H2H duels.

Both teams are 2-1 on the season, but the Hokies are 0-3 ATS, while the Blue Devils covered on two occasions. The Hokies are on a four-game winning streak at home and 2-2 ATS in that span. The Blue Devils are 6-2 SU and 7-1 ATS in their previous eight outings on the road.

This should be a really tight clash, as both teams are posting similar numbers. Still, the Blue Devils are racking up 181.0 rushing yards per game and should have an advantage on the ground. The Hokies are surrendering 174.0 rushing yards per contest.

Interestingly, the Blue Devils are 7-1 ATS in their previous eight outings on the road as underdogs of three or fewer points. That one ATS loss came by nine points at Pittsburgh. Therefore, I suggest you tease the Blue Devils and take them as 10-point dogs.

The Penn State Nittany Lions visit the Maryland Terrapins as 6.5-point favorites. The total opened at 57.0 points but shifted to 62.0 points after some early action on the over. The over is 6-2 in Penn State’s last eight games on the road, and it is 4-1 in Maryland’s previous five outings at home.

Considering Penn State and Maryland’s offense, this should be a high-scoring affair. Although both teams have played some weak rivals thus far, they are among top 10 teams in the country in points scored per game.

The Nittany Lions are averaging 47.0 points per game on 473.0 total yards. On the other side, the Terrapins are posting 53.0 points per game on 537.7 total yards. Interestingly, the Terrapins have scored just three points in each of their last two encounters with the Nittany Lions.

Air Force welcome San Jose State, and the Falcons are our pick of the day to cover the spread. Likewise, this could be the second pick for a 7-point teaser along with the Duke Blue Devils.

The Falcons are 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS in their last five home games when listed as favorites of 11.5 points or more. They rely on a terrific ground game, racking up 316.3 yards per game, so the Spartans will be in big trouble. San Jose State is allowing 165.7 rushing yards per game.

Friday action wraps up with the Pac-12 showdown at Memorial Stadium in Berkeley where the California Golden Bears welcome the Arizona State Sun Devils. The undefeated Golden Bears opened as 4.5-point favorites with the total at 41.5 points.

After a 20-19 victory at the Washington Huskies in Week 2, the Golden Bears recorded another impressive road victory in Week 4, defeating the Ole Miss Rebels 28-20. On the other side, the Sun Devils suffered their first loss of the season to Colorado 34-31 last week.

These two schools meet each other for the first time since 2016 when the Sun Devils defeated the Golden Bears 51-41 at home. California is 5-2 SU and 3-4 ATS in its last seven encounters with Arizona State.

The over is 4-1 in the last five H2H matchups, and four of those five contests produced 67 or more points in the total. However, this one looks like a low-scoring affair. The Sun Devils are scoring 22.5 points per game this season, allowing 13.8 in a return. The Golden Bears are scoring 24.5 points per contest, surrendering 17.3 in a return.

Likewise, the under is 11-2 in California’s last 13 games overall and 5-1 in the previous six at home. Six of the Sun Devils’ last eight contests went in the under, as well as four of their previous six showings on the road.
