There are only eight games in Major League Baseball Monday night, but three matchups attract our attention. Minnesota, Oakland, and Arizona are battling for the wild-card spots and are listed as strong favorites in their tonight’s contests.
Minnesota welcomes the White Sox at -245; Arizona hosts Miami at -210, while Oakland welcomes Kansas City at -300. The odds are not attractive for straight bets. However, if you take a three-game parlay, you will get +177 odds.
The upsets are pretty common in Major League Baseball and occur every night. Still, those three teams should satisfy the odds tonight. With just three weeks left to play, they are in a must-win situation. Likewise, all three teams are arguably stronger than their opponents and play at home.
The Minnesota Twins are just two games ahead of the Cleveland Indians. They have won 15 of their previous 20 meetings with the White Sox who have nothing to play for. The Twins lost 11 of their last 16 games at home and need to get back on the winning path as soon as possible.

Minnesota will start Jose Berrios who’s 10-2 in 13 starts against the White Sox in his career. The Twins are the second-most efficient team in the league with 5.79 runs per game. On the other side, the White Sox’s pitching staff is 23rd in baseball with a 4.95 ERA. The White Sox lost ten of their last 14 games overall.
The Arizona Diamondbacks are in a tough situation, trailing six games behind the wild-card spot. They have lost seven of the last eight contests overall. Hereof, winning the next three games against the Miami Marlins is a must.
Arizona is 8-4 in its last 12 meetings with Miami and 7-1 in the previous eight encounters at Chase Field. The Marlins have dropped five of their last six outings and 16 of the previous 18 on the road. Considering the betting trends, the D-backs shouldn’t have any problems to win tonight.
Likewise, the D-backs will start Robbie Ray, and the lefty is 12-8 this season with a 4.30 ERA and a 1.34 WHIP. Arizona won seven of his last ten starts including the previous three at home. On the other side, Pablo Lopez (4.97 ERA; 1.20 WHIP) will get the ball for the Marlins who lost four straight games with Pablo on the mound.
Finally, the Oakland Athletics are holding a wild card at the moment. However, they are only two games ahead of Cleveland. The A’s have been playing in an excellent form lately, so they should easily beat Kansas City in Oakland.
The A’s are riding a six-game winning streak. They scored 28 runs over the last three outings at Texas. Also, the A’s dropped 21 runs on the Astros this past Tuesday. They’ve dropped just two of their previous 13 games overall, while the A’s are 14-4 in their last 18 showings at home.
On the other side, the Royals have lost five of their previous seven contests. They are coming off a 3-0 series loss to the Astros. The Royals are 2-7 in their last nine meetings with the A’s and 3-6 in their previous nine visits to Oakland.
Glenn Sparkman will toe the slab for the Royals. He is 4-11 in 2019, tallying a 5.94 ERA and a 1.48 WHIP. The Royals lost nine of Sparkman’s previous ten starts. Tanner Roark will get the ball for the A’s, and he’s 10-8 this season with a 4.01 ERA and a 1.36 WHIP. The A’s are 5-2 in Roark’s seven starts since he’s joined the team from Cincinnati.
