Week 8 of the 2019 College Football season will close down on Saturday, October 19. There are plenty of exciting matchups, and the bettors have quite a homework to do. To help you make the best moves and pick the right markets, we bring you the hottest CFB betting trends out there.
Three teams in the country still couldn’t cover the spread. Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, and Akron are all 0-6 ATS, while there’s no team who’s perfect against the spread. All those three schools will take the field in Week 8.
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will look for their second win of the season. They will visit the Miami-FL Hurricanes as 18-point dogs. The Yellow Jackets are 2-8 SU and 3-7 ATS in their last ten meetings with the Hurricanes. At least, they’ve covered on the previous two occasions.

Keep in mind that the Hurricanes are double-digit favorites over the Yellow Jackets for the first time since 2005. The Yellow Jackets are 3-7-2 ATS in their last 12 road contests and 0-7 SU and 0-5-2 ATS in their last seven showings as double-digit underdogs. Miami is 3-4 ATS in the last seven showings as a double-digit fave.
As well as Georgia Tech, the Vanderbilt Commodores are 1-5 on the season. They will have a tall task to record the first ATS win, hosting the Missouri Tigers as 21-point underdogs. The Tigers are 5-1 SU and 4-2 ATS on the season, and their defense is among the best in the country.
The Commodores are 0-3 SU and 1-2 ATS in their previous three encounters with the Tigers. Vanderbilt is 2-7 ATS in its last nine games at home and 3-5 in its last eight outings as a double-digit out-of-towner. Missouri is 11-5 in its last 16 outings as a double-digit fave and 6-5 ATS in the last 11 games on the road.
The hapless Akron Zips are still winless in 2019. Now, they host the Buffalo Bulls as 17.5-point dogs. Buffalo is 2-4 SU and ATS on the season, while the Bulls are 1-4 SU and ATS in their last five road tilts. Also, the Bulls covered in ten of their last 15 showings as favorites of ten or more points.
When it comes to head-to-head duels, Buffalo is 7-3 SU and 6-4 ATS in its last ten encounters with Akron. On the other hand, the Zips are 3-0 SU and ATS in their previous three home meetings with the Bulls.
Keep your eyes on No. 2 LSU Tigers even though they are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings with Mississippi State. The Tigers are 6-1-1 ATS in their last eight games overall, 12-3-1 ATS in the last 16 games against the SEC, and 11-2-1 ATS in the previous 14 outings in October.
The undefeated SMU Mustangs are coming off a bye, and all their previous six contests went in the over. The Mustangs host the Temple Owls as 8.5-point favorites with a total of 59.5 points. All three meetings between SMU and Temple went in the over.
Likewise, all six Charlotte’s games were finished in the over. The 49ers visit Western Kentucky as 9-point dogs with a total of 48.0 points. Both their H2H duels went in the over, but the under has hit in four of Western Kentucky’s last five games overall. On the other hand, the over is 9-3 in WKU’s last 12 home games.
The East Carolina Pirates are 3-3 on the season, and the total has gone under in all their six outings. They visit the UCF Knights as massive 33-point underdogs with a total of 63.0 points. The over is 6-2 in the last eight meetings between these two schools, and it is 3-1 in the previous four in Florida.
The clash between Vanderbilt and Missouri also brings some intriguing betting trends when it comes to the totals. The under is 5-0 in the last five matchups between these two teams, and it is 5-1 in Vanderbilt’s last six home tilts. Also, the under is 4-1 in Missouri’s previous five outings.
