The 2019 NFL season goes on with 13 games on Sunday, so the bettors will have a lot of fun. However, everyone should be cautious. It’s the opening week and teams are still gelling the things. Green Bay defeated Chicago 10-3 in the opener Thursday night, and both offenses looked pretty rusty.

Sunday’s schedule seems quite interesting. We will see a few thrilling battles including the clash between the two most successful franchises. The New England Patriots host the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the reigning champs are 5.5-point favorites to cheer up the home fans.

Still, a few games look difficult to bet on, while some matchups seem perfect to take a teaser. Hereof, let’s take a closer look and find out the best bets for your Sunday NFL teaser.

Matchups to Avoid

The Los Angeles Rams visit the Carolina Panthers, and the reigning vice-champions are listed as 1.5-point favorites. This will be a tricky matchup for the Rams whereas Carolina wants to bounce back from a disappointing 2018 season.

Cam Newton is healthy and ready to lead the Panthers. Christian McCaffrey was terrific last year and will be a huge threat for the Rams’ defense. The Panthers are 6-1 straight up and 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven meetings with the Rams.

On the other hand, the Rams have one of the best receiving corps in the NFL. Jared Goff tossed for 4688 yards and 32 touchdowns last season and should be even better this term. Hereof, the clash between the Rams and Panthers could easily go either way.

The similar story is with the clash between the Kansas City Chiefs and Jacksonville Jaguars. Although the Chiefs are 3.5-point favorites, the Jaguars will rely on their sturdy defense. Also, the Jaguars now have Nick Foles under center, so the Chiefs’ defense will have a tough assignment.

Elsewhere, the New York Jets are 2.5-home favorites against the Buffalo Bills, as well as the Detroit Lions at the Arizona Cardinals. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 1-point home favorites versus the 49ers, and all those three contests seem unclear.

The Minnesota Vikings welcome the Atlanta Falcons as 3.5-point favorites, and this is another tricky matchup. Although the Vikings are 3-0 straight up and ATS in their last three matchups with the Falcons, the visitors are finally healthy and ready to rumble.

Best Games for a 7-point Teaser

The Dallas Cowboys are 7-point favorites to beat the New York Giants at home. The Cowboys are 4-0 straight up and ATS in their previous four encounters with the Giants. However, the Giants are 7-0 ATS in their last seven showings on the road, so teasing the Cowboys is a reasonable choice.

Likewise, the Philadelphia Eagles are massive 10-point home favorites against the Washington Redskins. Philadelphia is 4-0 straight up and ATS in its last four meetings with Washington, but the Eagles are just 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven outings at home.

The Los Angeles Chargers open as 6.5-point favorites to beat Indianapolis at home. Andrew Luck’s retirement is a massive blow for the Colts who’ll have a mountain to climb in Los Angeles. The Chargers are 7-2 ATS in their last nine meetings with the Colts.

The Seattle Seahawks should have an easy job against the Cincinnati Bengals at home. They are 14-0 straight up and 12-2 ATS in the last 14 home games in September. Still, teasing the Seahawks to 2.5 points cannot do harm.

The Bengals’ run defense was terrible in 2018. On the other side, the Seahawks’ ground game was the best in the league. Covering a 9.5-point spread could be a problem, but I believe Seattle will win this game by at least a field goal.

The Baltimore Ravens are the strongest road favorites this week. They shouldn’t allow the upset at Miami, but covering a 7-point spread doesn’t look like an easy job. The Ravens are 4-9-1 ATS in their last 14 outings on the road as favorites.

Finally, the Patriots are 13-3 ATS in their last 16 games at Gillette Stadium and 4-1-1 ATS in the last six home encounters with the Steelers. On the other hand, Pittsburgh covered in its last five showings on the road as a dog, so teasing the Pats could be a smart move.
