Another loaded Tuesday in the National Hockey League is upon us. The bettors will have a lot of fun tonight with plenty of markets to choose from. We will see 11 interesting games and some attracted our attention, so let’s see what can we expect from those matchups.
We’ll start with the Eastern Conference clash at Barclays Center in Brooklyn where the New York Islanders welcome the Ottawa Senators. The Islanders are listed as huge -260 favorites for a reason, as they are the hottest team in the NHL at the moment.
The Islanders are riding a nine-game winning streak following a 1-0 victory at the Buffalo Sabres. They are 16th in the league in goals per game (3.00) and 3rd in goals against (2.23). The Islanders’ defense is doing a great job, while their goalies have the 2nd-best save percentage in the NHL (.929).
On the other side, the Senators are coming off a surprising 6-2 victory at the New York Rangers last night. However, the Senators are still the worst team in the Eastern Conference alongside the Detroit Red Wings with only nine points earned.

They allow 3.31 goals per game (tied-20th in the NHL) on 34.7 shots (28th) while scoring 2.85 goals in a return (20th). The Senators have struggled in power-play situations, converting only four of their 48 power-play opportunities which is the worst record in the NHL.
The Senators are 1-5 on the road this season and 4-15 in the previous 19 outings away from home. Likewise, they are 4-15 on the back end of their last 19 back-to-back sets. The Senators lost five straight meetings with the Islanders and five of the previous eight encounters in New York.
If you are not satisfied with the money line odds, consider taking the Islanders at the puck line odds. Three of their last four wins over Ottawa came by two or more goals. Also, the Islanders cover the spread in four of their last five victories.
This will be the second duel of the season between the Senators and Islanders, and the Senators lost 4-2 at home on October 25. Ottawa took the lead early in the 1st period, but the Islanders had a comfortable 4-1 lead at the end of the 2nd period.
The next game on our list will take place at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada. The Los Angeles Kings visit the Toronto Maple Leafs as +185 underdogs with the total at 6.5 goals. This clash seems like a potential firecracker.
The Kings are allowing the most goals per game in the NHL (4.07), while the Maple Leafs are 22nd in goals against (3.40). Furthermore, the Kings’ goalies are the worst in the league with a terrible .863 save percentage. The Maple Leafs’ goalies are 22nd in the league with a .898 save percentage.
Interestingly, the Kings are 23rd in the league in goals per game (2.71) while taking the most shots per contest (37.1). The Maple Leafs are the 7th-most efficient team in the NHL, scoring 3.47 goals per outing.
The over is 4-0-1 in the Kings’ last five outings. Three of those five contests had seven or more goals in the total. The over is 6-2 in the Maple Leafs’ previous eight games overall, and six of those eight contests had at least seven goals in the total.
