Round 32 of the 2019 MLS season wraps up Wednesday night with six games on the schedule. With just two rounds more to go after tonight’s contests, the battle for playoff spots in both conferences enters a thrilling finish.
The action starts at Yankee Stadium where New York City hosts Atlanta in the Eastern Conference showdown. New York City is topping the conference standings at the moment four points ahead of Atlanta. It’s the battle for the No. 1 seed and I suggest you avoid betting on this clash.
The Pigeons won six of their last seven games at home along with a tie. On the other hand, Atlanta defeated New York City three times in a row and didn’t lose to the Pigeons in six straight encounters. Also, Atlanta won three of its previous four outings on the road.
Sporting Kansas City visits Minnesota United, looking for the win that will keep them alive in the playoff battle. On the other side, the hosts need a win to clinch the playoff berth. Therefore, we should see a great game and a few goals on the scoreboard.

Sporting has to push forward, but they conceded 12 goals in the previous three outings. Five of Kansas City’s last six showings on the road produced at least three goals in the total. On the other hand, just one of Minnesota’s last five games at home saw more than a couple of goals.
The stake is huge for both teams, and the visitors just have to win. Hereof, I expect to see at least three goals in the total at -180. If you want greater wages, take the over 3 goals at -115.
LA Galaxy travels to Rio Tinto Stadium where they meet Real Salt Lake in one of the most interesting matchups of the night. The Galaxy is one point ahead of the hosts who are just three points ahead of the No. 8 seed in the West.
The last three meetings between these two teams produced three or more goals in the total. The previous encounter at Rio Tinto Stadium saw eight goals, as Real defeated Galaxy 6-2. Los Angeles’ last six games had three or more goals in the total, but five or Real’s previous six contests saw fewer than three goals on the scoreboard.
This is another tricky game to bet on. Real conceded just 12 goals in 15 home games, recording 11 wins in that span. The hosts are favorites for a reason, as Galaxy lost six of its last seven games on the road. On the other hand, I cannot wager against Zlatan Ibrahimovic who scored 27 goals for Galaxy this season.
Los Angeles FC is the best team in the league all season long. The Black and Gold have already clinched the No. 1 seed in the West, so they’ve recorded four ties and a loss in the last five outings. They welcome Houston as massive favorites to grab a win, but it’s questionable who’ll be in the starting lineup.
The head coach Bob Bradley can rest his best players, so I would avoid betting on this clash. Houston desperately needs a win to keep the pace in the playoff race, but the Dynamo is winless in four encounters with LAFC. All their four meetings saw four or more goals, so if you like to follow betting trends, take the over 3.5 goals at -120.
Portland welcomes New England, and both teams desperately need a win here. While New England holds No. 7 seed in the East three points ahead of Chicago, Portland is tied with San Jose at the seventh spot of the Western Conference standings.
Portland is winless in three straight outings, failing to score in the process. New England is winless in four straight showings, and the Revolution conceded 33 goals in 15 road games this season. Interestingly, four of the last five H2H duels were finished in a 1-1 draw along with Portland’s 2-0 home win.
I would take the hosts to win, as they’ve beaten New England in two of four meetings in Portland. Likewise, New England scored only a goal in that four-game span.
Finally, San Jose hosts Philadelphia, and it’s another home victory on a horizon. While the visitors have already clinched the playoff spot, the hosts have to win to stay in the playoff picture.
San Jose is on a three-game losing streak, but all those three loses came on the road. On the other hand, the Earthquakes are undefeated in seven straight showings at home, recording six wins in the process. Philadelphia lost four of its last five road contest, failing to score on four occasions in that stretch.
