- Kansas City Royals vs. Texas Rangers
The Royals upset the odds in the opening clash of a four-game series at Globe Life Park in Arlington, beating the Rangers 4-2 as +155 money line underdogs Thursday night. Still, it was the Royals’ fifth victory over Texas in the previous 20 head-to-head duels, while they were 4-10 in the last 14 games overall and 3-7 in the last ten contests on the road prior to Friday’s clash. On the other side, the Rangers have won ten of their last 15 games overall and seven of their previous eight showings at home before a loss to the Royals in the opener.
Homer Bailey will get the ball for the Royals, and the right-hander is 4-5 in 11 starts this season with a 5.79 ERA and a 1.48 WHIP, while the Royals lost in his previous three starts. Bailey lost his only career start against Texas.
Lance Lynn will take the mound for the Rangers, and the right-hander is 6-4 in 11 starts this season with a 4.66 ERA and a 1.39 WHIP, while the Rangers are 5-0 in his previous five starts at home. Lynn is 3-2 in his eight starts versus Kansas City.
The Rangers have been playing very well at home lately, and with Lance Lynn on the mound, they will have an advantage over the Royals who are 20th in the league in runs per game (4.48). Take the hosts at the run line odds, as six of the Rangers’ last nine wins at home came by two or more runs.

- San Jose Earthquakes vs. DC United
DC United is winless in four straight games, recording three ties and a loss in the process, but the Black-and-Red is still topping the Eastern Conference with 26 points out of 16 games and a 22:17 goal difference.
On the other side, the San Jose Earthquakes have won three of their last four games overall along with a loss at New England, so they’ve improved to the 8th spot of the Western Conference with 17 points out of 13 games and a 20:24 goal difference.
The clash with the Earthquakes is a nice opportunity for the Black-and-Red to snap their winless streak. San Jose is struggling defensively, and the Earthquakes have conceded 12 goals in six outings on the road this season, suffering three losses in that span.
DC United has won two of its last three games at home along with a 3-3 draw versus Chicago and shouldn’t have any problems to score a couple of goals against San Jose. The Black-and-Red has won three of its last five meetings with the Earthquakes along with one loss and a draw including a 4-0 victory in their previous H2H duel in Washington. Take the hosts to win.

- Boston Bruins vs. St. Louis Blues
The 2019 Stanley Cup has been full of surprises so far including the Blues winning the Western Conference. The Bruins were a better team by far than the Blues in the opening game of the Final, but St. Louis bounced back with a dominant performance in Game 2. Hereof, it’s difficult to predict the outcome of the first meeting at Enterprise Center in St. Louis.
Goalies on both sides perform at the highest level, and each team possesses a few guys who are playing in a top form at the moment. The Blues have lost half of their previous ten outings on the home ice, while the Bruins have won eight of their last ten showings on the road, so I suggest you take the visitors even though they are listed as underdogs. On the other hand, the Bruins are -130 favorites to win the championship.
