  • Cleveland Indians vs. Chicago White Sox

The Indians will take on the White Sox to close down a four-game series at Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago. The White Sox won the first two contests of this series and entered Saturday’s clash on a five-game winning streak, while the Indians lost nine of their previous 12 games overall prior to the third game of this series.

The Indians are struggling with injuries and cannot count on Corey Kluber and Mike Clevinger, so Zach Plesac will get the ball for the visitors. This will be his second-ever start in the MLB, and the right-hander pitched 5.1 innings in a 7-5 victory over the Red Sox this past Tuesday, allowing four hits and one earned run while striking out two.

On the other side, Lucas Giolito will take the mound for the White Sox, and he’s 7-1 in ten starts this season with a 2.85 ERA and a 0.98 WHIP. The right-hander is 1-2 in three starts against the Indians, while the White Sox are 6-0 in his previous six starts. The hosts obviously have a huge advantage on the mound, while the Indians are the 6th-most inefficient team in the league with 4.02 runs per game, so take the White Sox to close down the series with a victory.

  • Philadelphia Union vs. Minnesota United

The Philadelphia Union is winless in three straight games, but it’s still one of the most pleasant surprises of the season so far, sitting at the 2nd spot of the Eastern Conference table with 25 points and a 25:16 goal difference out of 15 outings. On the other side, the Minnesota United is laying at the 5th spot in the West with 21 points and a 21:21 goal difference out of 14 outings, winning two of its last four outings along with a couple of losses.

The most interesting fact about this clash is that Minnesota’s previous five games didn’t see both teams scoring. Also, Minnesota’s last five games at home had fewer than three goals in the total. Philadelphia prefers an attacking approach, finding the net in seven of its last eight contests overall and in four of its previous five showings on the road, while five of the Union’s last seven games saw both teams scoring.

Hereof, the visitors should be able to score once, while Minnesota scored exactly one goal in each but one of its last five games at home. Also, these two teams met each other twice in the last two years, and they scored at least a goal on both occasions. Look for both teams to find the net on this one, as Minnesota’s streak cannot last forever.

  • Golden State Warriors vs. Toronto Raptors

The Raptors completely outplayed the Warriors in Game 1, and the reigning champions will have to put on a much better performance in Game 2 if they want to even the series. The Warriors played some poor defense, allowing the Raptors to shoot 50.6% from the field, while they made just 43.6% of their field goals. Also, Stephen Curry will need more help from his teammates, especially from Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala, while Kevin Durant will miss another game due to a calf injury.

Pascal Siakam led the Raptors in Game 1 with 32 points on 14-of-17 shooting, but the key factor was the Raptors’ excellent defense. Also, they had a terrific shooting night and will have a difficult job to replicate that performance if the Warriors improve defensively. The reigning champions know well what they need to do in Game 2, and I think we’ll see a tight battle down the stretch when the Warriors’ experience would make a difference. Take Golden State to win even though Toronto has won all three head-to-head duels this season.

  • Golden State Warriors +115 over Toronto Raptors
