It sounds like a made up fact but while we sit home idle waiting for MLB to startup the 2020 season we figured we’d share a fun fact for true baseball fans who we’re wondering.
Brad Gulden was a catcher who played in the league from 1978-1986 and was playing for the New York Yankees in 1980. He was traded to the Seattle Mariners for $150,000 and a player to be named at a later date and Larry Milbourne. The following year in May 1981, The Seattle Mariners sent Brad Gulden back to the New York Yankees as the player to be named at a later date.
This has only happened 3 other times with the other 3 MLB players being traded for themselves as the player to be named later are: John McDonald, Dickie Noles, and Harry Chiti.
