Arizona is following the lead of Washington, D.C. and is going to be the next state to have sportsbooks live at home games. The recently announced news is that Fanduel’s retail sportsbook will be at the Footprint Center where the Phoenix Suns play as well as the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury.
The other retail betting outfit is going to be downtown where the Arizona Diamondbacks play at Chase Field. This sportsbook is going to be operated by Caesars Sportsbook and gaming and is set to launch on September 9th just in time for the start of the 2021-2022 NFL season when the Tampa Bay Bucs play the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night football to start off the season.
The hold up and reason that the betting apps aren’t live yet for pre-season is because Fanduel is scrambling with all these new states passing regulations but they’re backlogged in trying to get construction and licensing finalized by opening day.
