SITPicks.com 9 Baseball 9 Lakers vs. Miami Heat Betting Picks and Other Plays for April 8 2021

Via the Rundown and Fanduel Sportsbook here are the best public betting picks and tips for today April 8, 2021.

Los Angeles Lakers face off at the former American Airlines Arena tonight at 7:30 PM Eastern Time

Handicapping the Lakers without LeBron or AD is an enigma, but our money has to go somewhere, so let’s attempt to solve it.

For the full season, L.A. is about five points better via net rating. They’re installed as eight-point underdogs tonight, so we’re asking whether the Lakers are really 13 points worse without their two stars (our answer is no).

Miami also opened as nine-point favorites and quickly moved down a point, indicating the sharp money likes Los Angeles. Dennis Schroder can facilitate the offense and ball out when necessary, Andre Drummond looks like he’ll be in the lineup, and Kyle Kuzma — who dropped 23 against Miami in February — should regain his form.

The Heat have been insanely streaky and lost to the Grizzlies last game, so take the Lakers to keep this one close.

Pick: Lakers +8 (-109)

DFS Value Play: Markieff Morris ($5000)

If you like betting on Los Angeles Sports teams then you have an opportunity to keep the flow going with the Toronto Blue Jays vs. Los Angeles Dodgers game. Here’s the rundown’s overview on the game:

Los Angeles Angels vs Toronto Blue Jays Betting Pick tonight

The game tonight starts at 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time:

Today Toronto plays its home opener… in Florida. After a shortened season with a Buffalo HQ, the Blue Jays will play home games from their spring training grounds — which they share with a high school team — until it’s safe to return… home.

At 4-2 after series against the White Sox and Astros, the Angels are finally challenging the notion that they are incapable of above-.500 baseball. The Blue Jays’ new-look team, meanwhile — filled to the brim with basically every former MLB player’s son — looked great after taking two of three from the Yankees.

Since they dropped two games to the quietly formidable Rangers, we’re getting an excellent value spot. Look for the Jays to take advantage of Griffin Canning — making his first start of the season — and for Ross Stripling to bounce back.

Pick: Blue Jays -121

DFS Value Play: Marcus Semien ($5000)

New Jersey Devils vs Buffalo Sabres Betting Pick Today

Puck drops at 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time

Hockey is weird sometimes: these teams cannot score — ranking 26th and 30th in the league in goals per game. Yet against each other, they do just fine, combining for at least five goals in each of the seven games they’ve played, including a 5-3 Sabres victory in New Jersey on Tuesday.

But part of being a bettor is understanding sample size and that trends stop, and we’re saying that happens tonight. Plus, on Wednesday, two of the Devils’ top scorers — Kyle Palmieri and Travis Zajac — were shipped to Long Island in a trade with the Islanders.

Mackenzie Blackwood isn’t starting in net, but Buffalo’s Linus Ullmark is good enough to keep us on the under. This will be ugly, don’t feel obligated to watch.

Pick: Under 5.5 (-120)

DFS Value Play: Ty Smith ($3900)

Parlay Pick for Today

Parlay

As every degenerate (hopefully) knows, the day after Champions League is always Europa League. Two of England’s traditional powerhouses are in quarter-final action today, and we like their chances to take home victories.

United, who travel to Granada, looked great in their Round of 16 victory over AC Milan and are undefeated in their last 10 Premier League matches. Arsenal host the tricky Slavia Prague, and though their form is not as encouraging, we trust them to scrape out a win. Yes, Gunners faithful, we’re adding the caveat they could blow it.

Pick: Manchester United and Arsenal Parlay (+136)

Prop

Chicago Bulls @ Toronto Raptors – 7:30 p.m. ET

The Raptors are limping into this matchup. Kyle Lowry (foot), Fred VanVleet (hip) and Rodney Hood (hip) are all out. This should open up lots of space for the Bulls, particularly Zach LaVine, who, it should be noted, is probable with an ankle injury. The 26-year-old is averaging 32.3 points, rebounds and assists over his last three games, and given Toronto’s walking wounded, there’s no reason to think he can’t get over that mark here.

Pick: Zach LaVine over 32.5 Points, Rebounds & Assists (-113)

Bold Bet

Edmonton Oilers @ Ottawa Senators – 7:00 p.m. ET

Leon Draisaitl notched his second hat trick of the season last night in Ottawa, so let’s bet on his phenomenal linemate Connor McDavid to follow suit tonight. The Sens are likely to start Matt Murray — sporting a hideous .880 save percentage and coming off an injury — in goal. With that in mind, throw a couple bucks on the best player in the league to get his third hatty of the year.

Pick: Connor McDavid Hat Trick +3600
