Los Angeles Angels @ Oakland Athletics – 9:40 p.m. ET

The public absolutely adores the Angels in this spot, as it will be Shohei Ohtani’s first turn on the mound since the All-Star break. That said, the Athletics are getting all the line movement, even flipping from underdogs at the open. We’ll follow that movement here and back Oakland as short favorites.

Ohtani’s pitching performances have mostly been impressive, but they certainly aren’t perfect. His immediate stats are fine, but his 4.7 BB/9 is a bit alarming and may indicate some control issues. Ohtani’s only recorded loss of the season, by the way, came in Oakland.

Like the Indians (more on this below), the A’s just keep winning and are 24-16 SU as a home favorite. Look for them to bounce back after dropping their last two to Cleveland.

Pick: Athletics -115

For those wanting a last minute MLB Betting pick for tonight:

Boston Red Sox @ Toronto Blue Jays – 7:07 p.m. ET

Given these offenses and pitching matchup, this total absolutely fits the mold of “high for a reason.” And yet, the only line movement we’ve seen has been toward the under despite a high percentage of the public backing the over. As such, we’ll be looking for the scoring to stay low enough.

To the surprise of basically no one, the Blue Jays lead the majors in home runs with 140. What may be surprising, though, is that Sahlen Field in Buffalo is not as friendly to home runs as one might think, showing a HR park factor of 99, 15th in MLB. Since the Jays returned to Buffalo on June 1, the under is 6-4-1 on lines of 10 or higher, hitting in three of the last four games.

The Red Sox have struggled to score since the All-Star break, so if the trend continues, this should cash.

Pick: Red Sox-Blue Jays Under 10.5 (-105)*

DFS Value Play: Nick Pivetta ($7,900)
