SITPicks.com 9 Football 9 NFL On Thanksgiving Betting Tips: Three Turkey Day Props Everyone Should Take

NFL fans are going to sit down before, after, and during dinner Thursday and watch the NFL games that are on. But let’s be real. We are going to watch these games because that is what we do on Thanksgiving. They are not going to be very good, though.

Chicago has lost its mojo and Detroit is starting a guy no one has ever heard of at quarterback. Dallas is either going to destroy Buffalo or play poor enough to keep the Bills in the game until the end. While the Saints-Falcons game was competitive a couple of weeks ago, don’t bank on it being similar this time.

Yeah, these games are going to be dull. But, if you live in the right state, there is a legal way you can spice them up. Several sportsbooks are offering prop bets on the games. Bet on the right ones, and even the worst game can become must-see-tv.

The following are three of the most enticing ones featured at PointsBet.com, DraftKings, FanDuel, Bovada, and/or BetOnline.ag:

  • DAL to win by 7+ vs. BUF, ATL to score 21+ points vs. NO, and DET/CHI to score 39+ points +625 (via FanDuel)

If the Cowboys play like we know they can, it is not hard to picture them winning by a touchdown. The Falcons have scored 20+ points in their last four games and in six of their last seven. The New Orleans defense has given up 17+ in their last three. It is not a stretch to think the Falcons can put up 21+ in this game.

But the Lions and Bears combining to score 39+ is the tough one here.  With the Lions starting their third-string quarterback this week, they could get shutout. Then there is the question of whether the Bears offense will move the ball.

It’s a risky one thanks to the third leg, but worth a small wager at those odds.

  • Most passing yards on Thanksgiving Day (Bovada)

Most books are offering this one, but the listing that should grab the attention of gamblers is at Bovada.lv. Drew Brees and Matt Ryan are the favorites, of course (+115), followed by Dak Prescott (+350), Josh Allen (+1700), Mitchell Trubisky +1800, and Jeff Driskell at +2000.

Brees and Ryan are the obvious bets but take Prescott instead. Dallas is going to try to make a statement, and it will start with Dak Prescott in the passing game.

You can place the wager at most books, but Bovada has the best payout for Prescott at +350 (most have him at +300).

  • Team to score least points on Thanksgiving (DraftKings)

We can rest assured that it will not be the Cowboys (+800) or Saints (+1000). But the Falcons (+500), Bears (+415), Bills +340, and Lions (+200) are definitely in the running. But deciding where the smart money should go is easy—the Lions.

With David Blough at quarterback this week against a good Bears defense, it will be shocking if he puts any points on the board.
