Wow, it was an ugly week as we fumbled on every game last week. A few were close but that doesn’t mean anything. We said to go over for the total in the Rams-Packers game and it was 0.5 points under and we said to go over the 51.5 in the Vikings-Saints game and that went 1.5 under. It got ugly from there.

We are undeterred. Even the New England Patriots have a bad Sunday and so we look to rebound this week in a series of games. That starts with the Kansas City Chiefs taking on the Cleveland Browns and the Los Angeles Rams going against the New Orleans Saints.

  • Touchdown – Kansas City Chiefs vs. Cleveland Browns

Spread: Kansas City (-8.5)
Total: Over/Under – 51.5

Cleveland began the season 2-2-1, but have been in the doldrums ever since, losing their last three. The Browns defense has been hammered the last three weeks, giving up 38 points to the Chargers, then 26 to Tampa Bay, before giving up 33 to Pittsburgh last week. Cleveland is also the only team who lost to the Raiders this year.

While the Cleveland defenses struggling the Kansas City Chiefs offense has been ridiculously good. They are averaging 36.3 points per game and have scored at least 30 points in every game but one this season. That includes putting up 40 against New England, 45 against Cincinnati, and 30 against Denver the last three weeks.

The Chiefs are 1-5 ATS in the last six contests between these two teams in the underdog is 5-1 ATS in the last six, but this is a battle of two teams that are going in opposite directions. Kansas City Chiefs are firing on all cylinders while Cleveland is struggling to stop opponents.

How You Score: Take Kansas City and Give the points.

  • Field Goal – Los Angeles Rams vs. New Orleans Saints

Spread: New Orleans Saints (-1.5)
Total: Over/Under – 59.5

Choosing the winner of this contest is a difficult pick. Los Angeles is undefeated at this point, winning all eight of their games this season, but New Orleans is 6-1. The Saints are favored by 1.5 points in this game, which tells you a lot about the fact that oddsmakers are not particularly confident in either teams’ ability to win.

The big number to pay attention to in this contest is the total. That is set at 59.5, and these are two teams that can put up points. The Rams are averaging 33 points per game while New Orleans is averaging 33.4. The defenses combined are only giving up 45.5 points per game, but this should be a contest about offense. Expect this game to end 35-31, so take the over.

How You Score: Take the Over 59.5

  • Extra Points – Three Games You Want to Take a Look At

The battle between the New England Patriots and Green Bay Packers should be an exciting contest this weekend. The total is set at 56.5 which sounds like a pretty solid choice. However, consider that New England is averaging 29.9 points per game while Green Bay is averaging 25.0, and they recently traded away Ty Montgomery.

The defenses are combining to give up 47.8 points, so we go with the under here expecting this to be somewhere around 51 as the total.

How You Score – Go under 56.5

Baltimore is favored by three over Pittsburgh this weekend, which seems like a good choice considering they beat the Steelers in Pittsburgh in Week 4, 26-14. However, these are two totally different teams since then, as Pittsburgh enters the contest as winners of three straight while Baltimore has lost their last two. Plus, the Steelers are coming off of a bye week. Take the Steelers and the points.

How You Score – Pittsburgh Steelers (+3.0)

Dallas is favored by 6.0 in this contest because there are a couple of reasons to like where they are at. Dallas is coming off of their bye week and added wide receiver Amari Cooper from the Oakland Raiders. This should help to improve this offense.

However, Tennessee has an exceptional defense in neither of these teams is likely to put up a lot of points. Tennessee is averaging 15.1 points per game but is only giving up 18.1 points. Dallas will likely win by three.

How You Score – Take Tennessee and the points (+6.0)
