First Leg – 7:00 p.m. ET
Desperation often works, so let’s bet on it in the NHL. The Jets have lost five in a row and are now three points back of the 2-seed Oilers. They at least keep it close against a Montreal team with several key injuries.
South of the… north border, the Avalanche have lost three straight, but are expected to get Mikko Rantanen and Philipp Grubauer back from the COVID list. This is an easy get-right spot at home against San Jose.

Houston Astros @ Tampa Bay Rays – 7:10 p.m. ET
Yuli Gurriel has been on an absolute tear to start the season, batting .344 with four homers and 16 RBI. The Rays are likely starting Ryan Yarbrough, and he’s been significantly worse in that role (6.48 ERA) versus when he comes out of the pen. Expect Gurriel to get on the board here.
Pick: Yuli Gurriel Over 0.5 RBI (+150)
Bold Bet
Kansas City Royals @ Minnesota Twins – 8:10 p.m. ET
The Royals might have something special in Friday starter Brady Singer – the 18th overall pick in 2018 has a 2.95 ERA and sterling 4.17 K/BB ratio. The Royals own the best record in MLB (by win percentage, but still!) and are decent-sized dogs to the underperforming Twins. Let’s be bold and say they’ll win by two.
Pick: Royals -1 (+190)
