SITPicks.com 9 Baseball 9 Phoenix Suns at New York Knicks Betting Pick, Odds, and Parlay from The Rundown

Today’s rundown covers a parlay play, the latest odds from Fan Duel sportsbook, and the betting pick from the Phoenix Suns vs the New York Knicks:

Phoenix Suns @ New York Knicks – 7:30 p.m. ET

What a ride it’s been for the Knicks: their nine-game winning streak — tied for their longest in 25 seasons — has them in fourth in the East. Knicks fans haven’t experienced a modicum of joy since 2013, so they’re rightfully on Cloud Nine after four big wins at the Garden.

But joy is ephemeral — especially for the Knicks. The Suns are the best road team in the NBA despite consecutive losses at the Celtics and Nets. They’re 13-4 this season straight up after a loss, and we say they avoid a three-game skid and end the Knicks’ party.

This line has been all over the place, so the safer play here is just to take the Suns to win.

Pick: Suns -132

DFS Value Play: Mikal Bridges ($5300)

Florida Panthers @ Nashville Predators – 8:00 p.m. ET

After a miserable start to the season (2.07 goals per game in February), the Predators offense has seemingly figured it out (3.0 goals per game April). Nashville has also scored 12 goals in its last two home games.

The Panthers have scored two or more goals in every game since April 10 and average 3.21 per game on the road, higher than their overall average. Their goalie depth is precarious with an overpaid, underperforming No. 1 (Sergei Bobrovsky), a rookie at No. 2 (Spencer Knight), and a great player at No. 3 (Chris Driedger) who they refuse to play more.

There should be lots of scoring tonight — take the over at the low number. We also like the Preds for a little plus money as they fight tooth and nail for the Central’s final playoff spot.

Pick: Over 5.5 (-113)

Sprinkle: Predators +104

DFS Value Play: Anthony Duclair ($4600)

Los Angeles Angels @ Texas Rangers – 8:05 p.m. ET

Shohei Ohtani is an absolute electric factory. His most recent highlight-reel home run has him in a share of the league lead with seven.

And oh, yeah, he’s a pretty good pitcher, too: The 1.62 WHIP is frightening, but he regularly works himself out of those jams as evidenced by his sparkling 14.5 K/9 and 1.04 ERA with ZERO home runs allowed in two starts. He has no wins (meaningless stat, but meaningful here) given the lack of run support in his outings. That changes tonight.

The Angels should get also-pretty-good player Mike Trout (elbow) back in the lineup after a two-game absence, and they face career mediocre righty Jordan Lyles. Expect L.A. to build on its momentum after avoiding a sweep in Houston yesterday.

Pick: Angels -143

DFS Value Play: Jared Walsh ($4300)

Parlay

First Leg – 3:00 p.m. ET

Today’s parlay: two teams feeling the pressure and looking to turn things around. Third-place Leicester City hold a one-point advantage over Chelsea in the Premier League after losing two of three. They just steamrolled West Brom at home, and they get it done here against a banged-up Crystal Palace.

Tonight, the Dodgers will be out for blood after dropping three of four to the Padres and blowing a late six-run lead last night. The Reds are the unfortunate punching bag.

Pick: Leicester City and Dodgers Parlay (+113)

Prop

Minnesota Twins @ Cleveland Indians – 6:10 p.m. ET

Can we take a moment to appreciate Byron Buxton’s torrid start to the season? The oft-injured center fielder is staying (mostly) healthy and has an eye-popping 1.242 OPS. He has a homer off Cleveland starter Zach Plesac in his career, but let’s go a little safer and say he’ll at least bring in one of the strong hitters ahead of him in the lineup, if not himself.

Pick: Byron Buxton Over 0.5 RBI (+115)

Bold Bet

Los Angeles Lakers @ Orlando Magic – 7:00 p.m. ET

Things have gone from bad to worse for the Lakers: They’ve lost four of their last five and, with Anthony Davis back, they dropped a back-to-back to Dallas — and led by 17 in the latter. The public is all over Lakers -10, so why not go super contrarian with an Orlando team that only lost by three in their last meeting?

Pick: Magic +410

Degenerate Corner

It’s often the ones you least expect that make you money. If you go 1-1 on two bets, you should never lose more than the vig. Tenured degenerates know this (even though they often ignore it), and degenerates-in-training should know this: Wager the same amount on the bets you don’t love as you do for the ones you “feel good” about. Don’t be the bettor who says, “Of course, that flier hit…I should’ve put more down.”

Your Turn: Tonight, pick two games from the board and bet evenly. We’ve already jinxed the bet you like more, so let us know the one you “also took” that hit, and we’ll give you a shoutout in the next newsletter.

Shoutout: On Friday, we asked subscribers for an Oscars pick, and Nick Levin (@nick_levin) took Viola Davis (+200) for Best Actress. Turns out that category, like many others, was harder than expected, as Frances McDormand (+400) took home the statue. Tough luck for all of us.
