Doug from the Rundown is at it again today with a list of betting picks and parlays for the average bettor looking to make some extra money from their sportsbook or bookie.

Colorado Rockies @ Los Angeles Dodgers – 10:10 p.m. ET

There should be an award for any starting pitcher who escapes Coors Field without damaging their ERA. We’ll give our hypothetical trophy to Julio Urias, who went seven strong innings with six strikeouts and one earned run when these teams met April 4 in Denver (a 4-2 Dodgers win).

He takes the mound again Thursday in L.A. with the chance to give the Dodgers their second straight series sweep. They’re the first team to 10 wins this season, they’ve won by two or more runs in eight of them, and they’ve covered the runline in four straight.

Without Nolan Arenado, Colorado has been totally ineffective — they’ve scored six total runs (!) in their last five games and are 3-9. The vig is heavy, but it’s a price worth paying for bet-cashing greatness.

Pick: Dodgers -1.5 (-129)

DFS Value Play: Chris Taylor ($4200)

Nashville Predators @ Carolina Hurricanes – 7:00 p.m. ET

Look to this season’s Nashville-Carolina series for why NHL totals are (almost always) between 5.5 and 6.5. The Preds and Canes have combined for exactly five or six goals in each of the four head-to-heads.

Yes, three of them have hit six, but the difference tonight — and what we’re banking on to keep this under — is Petr Mrazek getting his first start against Nashville. The Czech keeper missed two months of the season after undergoing thumb surgery, but has been brilliant when not injured, showing a .943 save percentage and 1.43 GAA.

Nashville is getting healthier in the defensive end (and just the opposite on offense), plus (hopeful) starting goalie Juuse Saros is no slouch himself. We love this under, and if both netminders start, we love it more.

Pick: Under 5.5 (-107)

DFS Value Play: Brett Pesce ($3700)

Milwaukee Bucks @ Atlanta Hawks – 7:40 p.m. ET

There are plenty of unknowns heading into this Thursday primetime matchup: Giannis Antetokounmpo (knee), Trae Young (calf) and Danilo Gallinari (foot) are all questionable. But there are enough… knowns to inform our decision to ride with the home dog here.

On paper, the Hawks are about 4.5 points worse than the Bucks, and Atlanta gets a slight bump for being on their home floor. The home/away splits are significant, too: The Hawks cover 58.3% of the time as the home team, while the Bucks only cover at a 39.3% clip on the road.

The kicker: The sharp money likes Atlanta tonight. This line has come down a full two points from the opener despite the public supporting Milwaukee. Be cognizant of the injury news and make sure you get a good number — but it’s Hawks or nothing here.

Pick: Hawks +4 (-109)

DFS Value Play: Kevin Huerter ($5100)

Parlay

First leg – 3:00 p.m. ET

In action Thursday are some of the most storied clubs in all of sports — objectively speaking about the Celtics, of course, as a Boston fan — so let’s throw them both in a moneyline parlay. The C’s have been absolutely rolling, and there’s every reason to think they keep it going against a hobbled Lakers team.

Meanwhile, Manchester United is the class of the Europa League and Granada is, well, not. While they don’t have tons of incentive to score (2-0 on aggregate), the Red Devils are home, in form, far superior, and even accidentally should win this game at minimum.

Pick: Celtics and Manchester United Parlay +110

Prop

Texas Rangers @ Tampa Bay Rays – 7:10 p.m. ET

After a slow start, Brandon Lowe has recorded hits in two straight games and popped his first home run of the season Wednesday. Since 2019, the 26-year-old has seen a 6% boost in his OPS when facing right-handed pitchers as opposed to lefties, and tonight he gets middling righty Jordan Lyles. Perfect time to throw in a plus-money wager.

Pick: Brandon Lowe Over 0.5 RBI (+145)

Bold Bet

Arsenal fans, you know the drill. The Gunners are a better team than Slavia Praha in a vacuum, but they also excruciatingly drew 1-1 at the Emirates last week, conceding a stoppage-time equalizer. They’re favored here, even on the road in Prague, but we think this goes as excruciatingly as possible again — tied after 90 minutes and headed to extra time.

Pick: Slavia Praha-Arsenal Draw +270

Sprinkle: Correct Score 1-1 (+600)
