With all 30 teams taking the field in Major League Baseball on Sunday, there’s plenty of betting markets to choose from, so the bettors will have an interesting day. Sunday’s action starts at Oriole Park at Camden Yards where the Orioles host the San Francisco Giants. Both teams have played poorly so far, and the Orioles entered Saturday’s game as the worst team in the league with an 18-39 record, while the Giants had a 22-34 record as the second-worst team in the National League.
The Orioles won the opening game of the series 9-6 to hand the Giants their eight loss in the last nine outings, and Baltimore is now 4-1 in its last five meetings with San Francisco.

Jeff Samardzija will toe the slab for the Giants, and the 11-year veteran is 2-4 in 11 starts this season with a 3.83 ERA and a 1.24 WHIP, while the Giants lost four straight games with Samardzija on the mound. However, Samardzija still looks like a better option than Gabriel Ynoa who’ll get the ball for the Orioles.
Ynoa is 0-1 in one start and nine relief apps this season, recording a 5.40 ERA and a 1.57 WHIP in 21.2 innings of work, while the Orioles are 2-8 in that ten-game span.
The Orioles’ pitching staff is the worst in the league with a 5.70 ERA and 6.02 runs allowed per game, while they surrendered 118 home runs which are the most in the league. The Giants are the 3rd-most inefficient team in the league with 3.71 runs per contest, so this seems like a perfect chance for Bruce Bochy’s team to improve its record. Another interesting clash will see the Kansas City Royals going against the Texas Rangers to close down a four-game series at Globe Life Park in Arlington. The first two contests were finished in the under, and the stats are suggesting that we could easily see a high-scoring affair on this one.
The Rangers are the 2nd-most efficient team in the league with 5.67 runs per game, but they are allowing 5.33 runs in a return which are the 4th-most in the league. The Royals are scoring 4.44 runs per game, surrendering 5.25 in a return which are the 7th-most in baseball. Also, the Royals’ pitching staff is the 2nd-worst in the league with a 5.21 ERA.
Brad Keller will get the starting nod for the Royals, while the Rangers will counter with Adrian Sampson. Keller is 3-6 in 12 starts this season with a 4.56 ERA and a 1.46 WHIP. Sampson is 3-3 in five starts and seven relief apps this term with a 4.53 ERA and a 1.49 WHIP. Take the over on the totals, although the line has been set at 11 runs.
Also, keep eyes on the Red Sox who desperately need to bounce back at Yankee Stadium. The opening game of a four-game series was postponed due to bad weather, while the Yankees defeated the reigning champions 4-1 Friday night. It was Boston’s third straight loss and the Red Sox will be keen to beat their arch-rivals on this one.
David Price will take the hill for the Red Sox, and the five-time All-Star is 15-14 in his 41 starts against the Yankees with a 4.90 ERA and a 1.40 WHIP. Price is 2-2 in nine starts this season, and the Red Sox are just 1-4 in his previous five starts.
CC Sabathia will get the ball for the Yankees, returning from a knee injury, and the 18-year veteran is 3-1 in eight starts this season with a 3.48 ERA and a 1.26 WHIP. Sabathia is 18-13 in his 42 starts against the Red Sox with a 4.14 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP.
With a couple of aces on the mound, this could easily be a low-scoring affair. Nine of Price’s last 12 starts and 11 of Sabathia’s previous 14 starts at home were finished in the under. Therefore, avoid the side bet and take the under instead.
