Not from a legend like Jon Price and the team here at Sports Information Traders but from Doug at the Rundown we have a Baseball betting play and an NBA Betting play for you to profit from. As a bonus you get a parlay bet for today April 13, 2021 for NHL, NBA, and MLB. Happy Betting.

Cleveland Indians @ Chicago White Sox – 8:10 p.m. ET

Shane Bieber has been absolutely dealing to begin the sequel to his 2020 AL Cy Young season, striking out 12 batters in each of his first two starts. Shockingly though, the 25-year-old has yet to record a win (ABOLISH WINS AS A PITCHING STAT) — but that should change tonight.

The White Sox hype train picked up a ton of steam coming into the 2021 campaign, and all the talent is there. But they’ve started slow, and at an even .500, are a half-game behind the Indians in the AL Central.

The White Sox got the series-opening win Monday, which is all the more reason to think the pendulum swings back the other direction. Cleveland’s ace wins the pitching duel against Lucas Giolito, and the Indians win a low-scoring game.

Pick: Indians -112

DFS Value Play: Eddie Rosario ($4400)

Boston Celtics @ Portland Trail Blazers – 10:10 p.m. ET

It’s been a head-scratching season for the Celtics: Sometimes they look like the class of the Eastern Conference, other times, they look like they’re competing for a lottery pick. All month, they’ve looked like the former, and Jayson Tatum has been on a tear.

Boston kicked off its west coast road trip with an impressive win over the Nuggets, easily covering as short underdogs to the hottest team in the West. The Cs find themselves as short road dogs once again, and that’s been a bad spot for Portland lately – the Blazers have lost three of their last four straight up when playing host as two-point favorites or fewer.

The Trail Blazers only cover at a 40.7% clip at home as well, so bet on Boston’s positive momentum and ride Tatum’s hot hand in a primetime national game.

Pick: Celtics +1 (-112)

DFS Value Play: Marcus Smart ($6200)

Parlay

First leg: 6:00 p.m. ET

Arguably the biggest move of the NHL trade deadline was the one that sent Taylor Hall to Boston. The former MVP will have the chance to face his former (miserable) team Tuesday. If the Sabres win, the Taylor Hall curse is real.

The Capitals also made a sneaky big move, acquiring Anthony Mantha from Detroit. The forward’s physical, offensive presence should give Washington a boost down the stretch, and the Caps should win their third straight against a struggling Flyers team.

Pick: Bruins and Capitals Parlay +118

Prop

Los Angeles Clippers @ Indiana Pacers – 7:40 p.m. ET

Caris LeVert has led a resurgent, scrappy Pacers team back into playoff positioning, averaging 21.8 points in the last five contests, four of which were wins. The absences of Patrick Beverley (hand) and Kawhi Leonard (foot) should open the floor for LeVert and give Indiana the chance for a statement win.

Pick: Caris LeVert Over 17.5 Points (-113)

Bold Bet

Detroit Tigers @ Houston Astros – 8:10 p.m. ET

Betting on the Tigers to win a baseball game is always a precarious proposition. Counting on them to win two games in a row? That’s a truly Bold Bet. But Matthew Boyd is taking the bump for Detroit and he’s nothing if not (semi) reliable. Jake Odorizzi is hittable in a hitter-friendly park, and we think the Tigers get it done Tuesday. Baseball is all about momentum, and two wins in a row is technically a streak.

Pick: Tigers +160
Degenerate Corner

Full disclosure: The writer of this newsletter is from Boston. We’re giving love to two of Beantown’s teams today because we genuinely like their spots. But as many bettors know, you have to balance your personal knowledge of the teams you root for with jinxing them when your wager is solely responsible for their loss.

If you really want to throw caution to the wind, you could roll out a hometown parlay, and bank on your city having a great night. Just tell your friends and family you didn’t actually bet on them so they don’t blame you if they all get beaten.

Your turn: Give us your hometown parlay for tonight’s action. Nail it and get a shoutout in the next newsletter.

Shoutout: Last week we asked subscribers to give us a pick they were sure was a lock that fell short. Reader Nick Levin (@nick_levin) regaled us with a haunting tale from March Madness: He parlayed Gonzaga -33 and Over 154 in the Zags’ first-round game against Norfolk State. This one looked good until it didn’t, as the final score was 98-55, a total of 153 and a brutal beat.
